Editor's Pick Women Who Lead

Have You Applied for This Women’s Business Award Yet?

International Women’s Day may have just passed but celebrating the women in our community should be something we do in perpetuity, which is exactly what Veuve Clicquot has committed to do. The Bold by Veuve Clicquot program is designed to increase the visibility of women entrepreneurs around the world. In fact, the initiative is a testament to the legacy of the champagne house’s namesake founder, Madame Clicquot (otherwise known as the ‘Grande Dame of Champagne’), who famously took over the business in 1805 when her husband passed. Keep in mind that this was during a time when women could neither work nor hold a bank account, making her impact over the years that much more impressive.

What are the awards?

The Bold Woman and Bold Future awards were launched in 1972 and 2014, respectively. Through key events around the world (like Mission Critical Live x Bold by Veuve Clicquot), the Bold by Veuve Clicquot program raises the voices of women entrepreneurs and encourages the next generation to be even more impactful.

Currently there are two awards that applicants can apply for:

The Bold Woman Award: A candidate that has founded (or been the CEO) of a company headquartered in Canada for more than three years, made a significant innovation or contribution to the transformation of an existing market, and operated with a set of ethical values that have brought change to the company or ecosystem.

The Bold Future Award: A candidate that has founded (or been the CEO) of a company headquartered in Canada for less than three years, made a significant innovation or contribution to the transformation of an existing market, and operated with a set of ethical values that have brought change to the company or ecosystem.

What is the prize?

Besides major bragging rights, winners of the Veuve Clicquot Bold Awards will be given an all-expenses-paid, life-changing trip to France, where they’ll visit the Veuve Clicquot estate in Reims to learn about the history of the brand; their very own vine (named in their honour) that will stay on the estate and continue to produce the iconic champagne that Veuve Clicquot has become known for; and perhaps most importantly, access to a global network of other women entrepreneurs and award winners that you can tap into for networking and business opportunities.

When is the deadline?

The deadline is approaching quickly. Applications will be accepted up to April 1, 2023. You can apply and learn more about the Bold Woman Awards here.
